For the porcelain industry, the catering sector is a significant market in which product innovations develop much more rapidly than in the domestic porcelain sector. The project began with an in-depth examination of the so-called ‘professional porcelain’ sector, encompassing all its various areas, from hotel and restaurant tableware through to institutional catering and modular tableware. Reisner & Frank supported the Halle University of Art and Design and the students of the Department of Product Design / Ceramics and Glass Design by providing inspiration and ideas drawn from the day-to-day reality of staff catering in the hospitality sector. We are delighted with the highly successful results and look forward to seeing what product innovations will follow in the future.
